FIVE STAR'S SIRE - FLORESTAN

  • The Champion of the Stallion Licensing 1988 and won his Ridden Performance Test in Warendorf, Germany.

  • Produced over 25 Licensed sons, including Fidermark the 4 year old winner of The German National Dressage Championships 1990, continuing his carreer as a Grand Prix Dressage Horse.

  • The mare Ferrara (Florestan) is a 3/4sister to Five Star out of his dam's half sister. As a five year old Ferrara won The German National Dressage Championships (Isabell Werth).

  • In 2002 The German National Championships were dominated by 5 horses representing Florestan including French Kiss who went on to win The World Young Dressage Horse Championships.

  • Fürst Heinrich by Florestan won The World Dressage Horse Championships (Holga Finken) 2003.

  • Another Florestan son, Florencio won the 5 year old title at the same Championship in 2004, and then went on to win The World Young Dressage Horse Championship for a second time in 2005 as a 6 year old. He was awarded a 10 for his canter at both World Championships!

  • 2006 Florestan's son was the price highlight at The Hanoverian Stallion Licensing Verden at €400 000.00 sold to Doug + Louise Leatherdale , USA.

  • Florence by Florestan wins The German National Qualifiers at Munster, Germany 2008.

  • First Step by (Fidermark) Florestan and Fürst Khevenenhuller (Florestan) qualify in the 5 years old's a 6 yearold's classes in 2008 for The German National Championships.

  • 2007 The Performance Horse Auction (PSI) Finetime by Florestan sold to an English buyer for €78 000.00

  • 2008 - Ferrari by Florestan (Breeder: Axel Windeler) qualifies for The German National Championships. (Same breeder and 1/2 sister to FIVE STAR).

  • June 2008 – Grand Prix Dressage Stallion Florianus by Florestan ridden by Karen Rehbein is sold for an undisclosed sum to Iron Spring Farm, USA.

  • Florestan's dam State Premium Award Raute was The Championship Mare of her inspection year. In 1983 she was winner of her class at The German Mare Championships, Germany.

In 1986, she won The Championship Junior Mare at The Federal Championships in Aix-La-Chapelle, France.

After Florestan's death, his frozen semen has been strictly controlled by The State Stud, and only allocated to specifically talented and proven damlines.

Five Star

Completed the most in depth and difficult Ridden Performance Test on offer, 300 days, at Adelheidsdorf, Germany from 1 November 2006 – 17 October 2007.

Most young stallions do a 30- day, 70- day or 100 day Ridden Performance Test, and even though he was younger than most, Five Star passed this year long test in Oct 2007. Only 52, 3 year old stallions succeeded in completing and Five Star was placed 11th, where he showed his remarkable talent for Dressage.

Five Star is now Licensed for life with the Verband Hannoverscher Warmblützüchter. FIVE STAR is a Premium SAWHS Licensed stallion.

His history at a glance.

  • 2004 - Five Star was The Champion Foal, Sottrum, Germany 2004, qualifying for The Foal Championships. He became The Reserve Supreme Championship Foal at the Hanoverian Finals, Lohberg, Germany.

  • 2006 - Five Star passed his licensing at Verden in October. Ridden tested and fully Licensed for life after 300 day Performance Test, 2007. (Dressage, Showjumping and Eventing).

  • 2007 - Five Star started training for competing in Germany's Young Dressage Horse Classes and qualifiers. Rider: Stefan Blanken.

  • 2008:

    • April 19th Won Level I – final score 8.0.

    • May 3rd Won Level I – final score 8.4.

    • May 9th Won Level I – final score 7.8.

    • May 16th Won level A (Verden) against the other top dressage youngsters and stallions. Final score 8.0.

    • June 1st The winning round with a score of 8.91! (Trot 9, Canter 9.5, Walk 8.5, rideability 9, temperament 9) .

    • June 10th to The Fertility Clinic Mühlen for quality testing and freezing of semen. Good!
      June 24th into quarantine in Germany for his flight to Cape Town.

Five Star is a young stallion with great ability and exceptional bloodlines. He has already made an impressive debut, winning consistently with high marks in Germany, where only the most talented have a chance to win. Five Star will be available to a limited number of outside mares each year.

Five Star is licensed in Germany Hannoveraner Verband Stud Book I, as well as Premium Licensed with SAWHS.
